It’s a fact…your wedding day goes by quickly. Don’t you want to remember your day the way it happened–unscripted and a natural flow? Then YOU want a documentary style video.
What is the difference in video styles? In short, a cinematic video is more “scripted” and edited. Many times, they are limited in length and tend to jump back and forth between the beginning of the day and the reception. You may even be asked to perform certain activities for the sole purpose of the video editor being able to maintain continuity from one video to the next. These videos are designed to create the mood and the excitement of the day, usually in 7 to 10 minutes. Our documentary style video tells the story of your day as it happens, in the order that it happens, and does not cut out footage of the most important part — the ceremony.
We start prior to the ceremony with details and getting ready. If you like, we can do a Love Story interview, which is a simple question and answer session with each partner. Next, it’s the ceremony with the full processional and the full ceremony. In most cases, two cameras are covering the ceremony from two different vantage points. The groom is mic’d to the camera and this mic will pick up the officiant and the bride throughout the ceremony. Following the recessional from the ceremony site, coverage will begin at the cocktail hour and continue through the reception, capturing The Grand Entrance, toasts, cake cutting, First Dance, family dances, and any other formalities, as well as casual dancing and views of your crowd enjoying your special day.
Your finished video will be made available to you on a usb drive, as well as online for download and/or viewing. If you’d like to see a full-length video, go to our Vimeo channel https://vimeo.com/accsvp Here you will find both full length AND highlight videos. Below are examples of our highlight video…your full-length video edited down to under 10 minutes. This is available as an add-on for an additional fee…but keep in mind that there is no new or different footage in the highlight. You will receive all of your edited footage with a video booking. There’s no need to ask for “raw footage”, as we are recording all the important moments, and you will see them in your footage.
One last note about videography. As much as being able to work together makes for a better marriage experience, so does photography and videography as a pair. We CAN do video with other photographers, but for best results, consider booking our photography and videography as a duo. It’s a much better marriage, as our staff has worked together and can anticipate the needs of each other throughout the day.
